- A recognised qualification in Psychology or Counselling (or equivalent). - A genuine pastoral concern for young people; - Good working knowledge of the development (physiological, psychological and emotional) of young people and adolescents; - Excellent intra- and inter- personal skills; - Excellent communication skills; - Ability to prioritise workloads; - Ability to work on own initiative - Sound judgment and collaborative understanding
- Training in middle or senior management; - Relevant professional accreditation such as membership of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or an equivalent accreditation. - Willingness and proven ability to make links with parents and teacher groups; - Experience of involvement in one or more of: strategic planning; monitoring; concise and accurate writing skills; - Range of emotional intelligence and experience that builds trust with students and parents, as required. - Basic knowledge of CPOMS
General Responsibilities- To be available for consultation with parents and staff regarding any student about whom there may be concerns- Provide assessment, counselling and consultancy to individual students and/or their parents- Provide appropriate feedback and follow-up to students' parents, teachers, pastoral and support staff- Assist School staff to identify and address students' specific needs- To offer direct counselling to individuals or small groups of students, who may be experiencing difficulties in their studies or within social and personal aspects of their lives. Some areas might include:• Serious family problems e.g. bereavement, family breakdown;• Social problems e.g. relationship with peers, truancy• Emotional problems and health problems, e.g. Anxiety, eating disorders, depression, stress • Behavioural problems- Support with the facilitation of group seminars and programs for students and parents on issues concerned with emotional and social health- Guide families in referrals to external professionals, when required.- Maintain confidential case files for all students obtaining counselling- Act in conjunction with your Line Manager working with a caseload of students assessed as having varying degrees of risk, when comfortable and competent to do so- To work in conjunction with Pastoral Leaders to meet the needs of a particular form or year group e.g. Stress Management, group friendship issues- To assist with the development of the relevant policies- To continue to develop community partnerships- To develop whole school programs as the need arises e.g. managing issues of depression, anxiety and stress; bullying and harassment, building skills of resilience or other issues- Assist with the successful transition of students between Primary and Secondary- Support with the running of specific parent teacher events, information sessions and represent the school at external eventsPersonal Development- Participate fully in the school's Performance Management procedures and appraisal, including objective setting- Continual development through self-directed continued professional learning- To be proactive in self-development and seek to offer training, where appropriate, to aid the development of other staff members and students.Working time: Monday to Friday (8AM to 5PM) • Ngày làm việc: • Giờ làm việc: • Cấp bậc: • Loại công việc:
