About the Role
We are seeking a Product Manager, Manufacturing APAC to lead the design, development, delivery and life cycle management of manufacturing AIoT products that boost our manufacturing operations in APAC transforming into AI native and cognitive factory. This role manages manufacturing AIoT products portfolio striving for operational excellence (Cost competitiveness, delivery agility, quality excellence, data- and AI-driven decision excellence).
As the Product Manager, this role has a deep understanding of manufacturing operations, is able to identify business cases and opportunities leveraging AIoT technologies, translate business requirements into product function requirements, design function modules, manage sprint cadence and delivery commitments, support implementation, and ensure products are adopted and deliver operational value.
This role will work closely with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Automation, and Technology team (Architect, Engineering, Data, AI) to design and deliver AIoT products (e.g. APS, MES, intralogistics solutions, condition and performance management, preventive quality management, predictive maintenance, data and AI platforms and services).
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Process & Business Analysis:
- Develop a strong understanding of manufacturing processes across planning, scheduling, production execution, material flow, quality, maintenance, and shop-floor management.
- Map end-to-end processes, including user roles, handoffs, business rules, exceptions, bottlenecks, KPIs, data, and system dependencies.
- Identify process gaps, operational pain points, and digitalization opportunities with plant and functional teams.
- Assess process maturity, master-data quality, and local readiness for product deployment.
Requirements Management & Product Abstraction:
- Gather, clarify, validate, and document business cases and opportunities leveraging AIoT technologies (e.g. APS, MES, intralogistics solutions, condition and performance management, preventive quality management, predictive maintenance, data and AI platforms and services).
- Convert ambiguous requests into structured problem statements, process flows, user scenarios, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and expected business outcomes.
- Distinguish among configuration needs, process gaps, data issues, integration issues, adoption gaps, and genuine product enhancements.
- Abstract common needs across plants or user groups into standardized, reusable product capabilities; avoid unnecessary one-off customization.
Product Roadmap Ownership & Backlog Management:
- Own and manage the product roadmap and product backlogs.
- Align product design with business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Define clear user stories, acceptance criteria (including KPIs), and prioritized work for Technology team (Architect, Engineering, Data, AI).
- Ensure alignment of backlog priorities with business objectives and priorities.
Product Delivery:
- Partner with Technology team (Architect, Engineering, Data, AI) to deliver features and enhancements in agile sprints.
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Support integrations with existing IT systems (e.g. ERP, MES, WMS, quality systems, and automation platforms).
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with plant managers, supervisors, industrial engineers, and operations leaders to gather requirements and validate solutions.
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and manufacturing users.
- Support training, rollout, and adoption of new capabilities across facilities.
Product Life Cycle Management:
- Monitor operational KPIs (e.g. yield, productivity, cycle time, downtime, quality), and product KPIs (e.g. number of active users, user usage) to monitor product performance.
- Use data insights and user feedback to drive continuous improvement of product management.
- Collect user requirements and manage product iteration through the product life cycle.
- Manage product end-of-life and migration plans based on actual needs.
