The Project Manager will be responsible for the management and delivery of multiple projects within dwp. HCMC's portfolio, coordinating design teams, clients, consultants, subconsultants, and dwp. studios to ensure projects are delivered on time, to the required quality, and within agreed scope and commercial targets.
The role requires strong experience in architecture or interior design, with a clear understanding of design processes, project delivery, and stakeholder management. Candidates without sufficient project management experience within the design consultancy industry must demonstrate the ability to develop these competencies quickly during the probation period.
The primary focus will be dwp. HCMC and Vietnam-based projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
- Own project delivery – Take responsibility for projects from appointment through completion, including the handover from Business Development to the project team upon appointment.
- Manage multiple projects – Manage and coordinate multiple projects within dwp. HCMC's portfolio, balancing priorities, resources, programs, and client requirements.
- Lead project coordination – Lead client meetings, internal coordination, consultant meetings, site meetings, and online meetings.
- Manage design teams – Coordinate dwp. designers and subconsultants to ensure clear responsibilities, deliverables, and deadlines.
- Manage clients and stakeholders – Take ownership of client and stakeholder relationships, with Business Development providing support where required.
- Control project programs – Manage schedules, milestones, deliverables, resources, and priorities.
- Drive project issues – Identify, coordinate, and resolve design, technical, stakeholder, and delivery issues before they impact the project.
- Support site delivery – For projects under construction, support the design teams to ensure the approved design is executed on site in accordance with the agreed design, project requirements, and dwp.'s contractual scope.
- Manage project scope – Ensure the team delivers in accordance with the agreed scope and contract, and identify out-of-scope work early.
- Coordinate design reviews – Arrange and manage design reviews and presentations with design teams and subconsultants.
- Lead contract execution – Take the lead in progressing project contracts from appointment through execution, working with Business Development, Legal, and Finance to ensure contracts are signed promptly, align with dwp.'s requirements and governance, and can be properly executed with the client.
Commercial & Contract Management
- Protect project profitability – Manage project revenue against approved budgets and work with Design and Finance teams to address over-budget issues.
- Protect NSR and profit margins – Monitor project performance to ensure target net service revenue and profit margins are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage variations – Identify and lead the commercial and contractual management of variations, additional services, and out-of-scope work.
- Manage subconsultant variations – Coordinate variation orders and commercial matters with subconsultants and third parties.
- Manage project contracts – Lead contract review before execution and develop a full understanding of each project contract.
- Administer contracts – Lead day-to-day contract administration and front-facing contractual matters during the project, with support from Legal, Finance, and Business Development.
- Monitor project finances – Coordinate with Finance on invoicing, payments, project revenue, costs, financial risks, and receivables management.
Group & Intercompany Coordination
- Coordinate intercompany projects – Manage project communication and delivery coordination between HCMC and other dwp. studios.
- Manage Group design reviews – Coordinate design reviews and presentations by intercompany studios to the Group, and by third-party subconsultants where required.
- Manage intercompany meetings – Organize and lead strategic, project, design, and delivery coordination meetings between HCMC, Group, and other dwp. studios.
- Track Group actions – Maintain clear actions, responsibilities, decisions, and deadlines from intercompany meetings and reviews.
- Coordinate Group stakeholders – Ensure information, decisions, and project requirements are communicated effectively across the relevant dwp. teams.
Role Purpose
The PM will establish clear ownership of project delivery within dwp. HCMC, reduce reliance on senior management for day-to-day project coordination, improve consistency across project teams and stakeholders, and strengthen dwp. HCMC's ability to independently deliver projects while effectively connecting with the wider dwp. Group.
