Success Profile – Qualifications & Experience

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial reporting within insurance, banking, financial services, securities firms, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, managing accounting operations, and supporting audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Business English proficiency required for effective communication and reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualifications or certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA, ICAEW) are preferred.

Technical Expertise

  • Experience in insurance, banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or equivalent systems.
  • Experience participating in finance transformation, digitalization, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, R, or equivalent technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify automation opportunities, improve operational controls, and increase team productivity through technology.
  • Strong digital mindset with a continuous improvement orientation and passion for leveraging technology to drive business outcomes.

Job Purpose

Responsible for managing accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance activities to ensure accuracy, integrity, and adherence to regulatory requirements. The role also supports process optimization through data analytics, automation, AI-enabled solutions, and digital tools to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen financial controls.


Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Financial Control

  • Review and validate accounting transactions, cash movements, payment activities, and supporting documents to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper financial control.
  • Monitor revenues and expenditures against approved budgets, reconcile accounts and balances, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting, payment, and debt-related issues.
  • Provide accounting guidance and recommendations to business units and management on financial transactions and operational matters.

Financial Reporting & Regulatory Compliance

  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and regulatory submissions in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits, tax inspections, and regulatory reviews by coordinating documentation and responding to requests from auditors and relevant authorities.
  • Ensure all accounting activities are performed in accordance with company policies, internal controls, regulatory requirements, and service quality standards.

Process Improvement & Transformation

  • Participate in the design, enhancement, and implementation of accounting, payment, and finance processes to improve efficiency, control effectiveness, and scalability.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, digital solutions, data analytics, AI, and intelligent tools to streamline accounting operations and reduce manual effort.

Knowledge Management & Team Support

  • Stay updated on regulatory, tax, accounting, and financial reporting developments, and support the dissemination of relevant knowledge within the organization.
  • Participate in internal and external training programs to continuously enhance professional expertise and capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.
