Education: University degree in Garment Technology / Textile Mechanics / Textile Engineering; or college degree + strong practical experience.
Experience: 5–10 years in sweater manufacturing; ≥ 3 years in a Production Manager/Supervisor position.
Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of flat knitting, linking, and finishing. Knowledge of operating or reading Stoll/Shima Seiki machine parameters.
Soft skills: Leadership, data-driven decision-making, problem-solving, interdepartmental communication.
Language: English - reading and understanding technical documents and customer reports; basic communication.
I. KEY ROLES:
Manage all production activities of the sweater factory from Raw materials → Knitting → Linking → Finishing → Packaging → Shipping, ensuring targets for progress, quality, cost, safety, and compliance with laws and customer standards.
II. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
Develop weekly/monthly production plans based on purchase orders (POs) and machinery capacity.
Coordinate with the Merchandising department on shipping plans.
Balance knitting machines according to gauge (3G – 20G) and type of Stoll/Cxing machine for each product code.
Reduce changeover time and optimize OEE.
2. Technical & Process Management
Supervise key stages:
Knitting (panel, full garment with pockets, seamless)
Linking – manual or automatic machine splicing
Mending & Stitching
Washing/Bleaching – anti-shrinkage treatment, softening, drying
Ironing/Form pressing
QC & Packaging
Control yarn tension, stitch density, and standard gauge.
Manage yarn inventory: cotton, acrylic, wool, recycled, blended.
3. Quality Assurance
Supervise on-line inspection: weaving defects (holes, loose stitches, oil/grease, uneven yarn tension).
Apply AQL standards as required by customers.
Analyze the root causes of major defects: incorrect color, shrinkage, pilling.
Ensure finished products are the correct size, weight, label, and packaging.
4. Manpower & Production Management
Directly manage department managers: knitting, assembly, finishing, quality control, IE, and maintenance.
Plan manpower according to orders – reduce absenteeism and manage overtime appropriately.
Train workers on machine operation, occupational safety, and productivity improvement skills.
Resolve conflicts and maintain labor discipline.
5. Cost & Inventory Control
Control CM (processing costs) – reduce yarn waste, downtime, and recycling time.
Monitor WIP (work-in-process), raw materials, and finished goods inventory.
Reduce the rate of defective/poor quality products.
Optimize electricity, water, and chemicals in the washing and finishing stages.
6. Reporting & Coordination
Daily production reports: output against plan, efficiency, machine downtime, error rate.
Coordinate with IE to build SMV and line balancing.
Coordinate with warehouse & import/export to ensure on-time delivery (OTD).
