• Reports to: Strategic Sourcing Manager, Asia
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering/Science, Polymer Engineering/Science, Materials Engineering/Science, or a related field
• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in sourcing or purchasing.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications; data-oriented, with strong analytical capability.
• Language: Proficient in reading and speaking English and Korean.
• Systems: Working knowledge of ERP systems such as IFS or SAP; good computer skills.
• Negotiation & Communication: Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem Solving: Proficient in structured, complex problem-solving techniques.
• Management Skills: Good project management, leadership and supervisory skills.
• Personal Attributes: Pleasant, self-driven and proactive; able to work independently with minimal supervision; creative and innovative.
Preferred:
• Industry: Experience in the converting industry.
• Continuous Improvement: Background in Lean or Six Sigma.
Purpose of the job:
Obtain quotations, technical information and material samples from suppliers to support sample builds and NPI activities; review and negotiate commercial terms; source, evaluate and qualify new suppliers; develop and execute sourcing strategies; and take ownership of annual cost-saving targets set by the Company.
Principal accountabilities/Main tasks:
• Source new materials as requested and obtain quotations and related information from suppliers in a timely manner.
• Secure material samples from suppliers in a timely manner to support sample builds and other NPI activities.
• Review and negotiate commercial terms with suppliers.
• Identify, evaluate and qualify new suppliers; collect all required supplier documents to complete vendor code set-up in IFS.
• Collect new material information required for material set-up in IFS.
• Work with the regional team to develop sourcing strategies and execute the agreed strategies.
• Take ownership of annual cost-saving targets set by the Company and negotiate with suppliers to achieve them, leveraging total Company spend regionally and worldwide.
• Work with cross-functional teams to continuously drive supplier improvement in safety, delivery, quality, cost, service and innovation.
• Plan and organize annual supplier audits.
• Coordinate the resolution of supplier-related issues, such as quality disputes and delivery expediting.
• Support sourcing requests from other Asia and global sites as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.
