Saigon TanTec Leather Ltd. was founded in 2008. It is one of three production facilities within the ISA TanTec Group. The facility covers over 44,000 square meters, and uses BAT (Best Available Technology) for leather manufacturing with minimum environmental impact on wastewater treatment. The company works from wet blue to finished leather and specializes in production of leather for renowned footwear brands. The customer designed leathers not only live up to the individual customer’s technical specifications but also fulfill the RSL (Restricted Substance List) requirements and other CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) aspects. Saigon TanTec – after running production for 4 years – continues to pass the ISO 14001 audit, ISO 9001 audit, and also confirmed its LWG Gold status. In August 2014, Saigon TanTec was the first tannery in Asia to be certified by ECO2L (ECO2L encompasses the world’s first calculation and auditing model for determining the energy efficiency and CO2 emissions of a tannery.
